What a lovely story Donna. I wasn’t able to start a book collection until recently as an adult. You could always find me at the local library though and books brought me great solace as I navigated through a one parent childhood when my parents split up. Thank you for sharing your story.

Thank you Donna for sharing this moving account, especially relating to your daughter Miranda. It was really heartwarming to read about the connection forged between you both through the love of books. Books have always kept me company growing up in my lonely childhood. I sought solace in reading, which kept me sane. It still does! Best wishes xxx

Having worked in public libraries for 12 years and being an avid library goer and book lover/shopper as a child myself, I am so pleased to hear of your love of libraries and the memories they evoke and also it is fascinating to hear about other readers stories, how they come to love and collect books. I really enjoyed your article Donna and Miranda and I love watching you both on YouTube so much so that I have subscribed to Seasons of Story and look forward to enjoying the new and archived content - it feels like a real treat already! Absolutely worth the subscription - I hope to develop a love of Classics through this as have not read too many classic or vintage books to date

Thank you for producing this content - it is truly beautiful and so engaging - Best Wishes

Donna, I very much enjoyed listening to you share your journey of book collecting. I sit here now thinking over my years of collecting. The growing collection, the sagging shelves, the paring down for moves, the new growth of favorite genres, gems found at the library sales or antique shops, the ever expanding shelves only to be pared down again by necessity, so many hours spent in different worlds than my own. Beautiful memories of reading under the shade of the sugar maples. Thank you Donna for eliciting my memories from the recesses of years. I admire your efforts in bringing books into Miranda’s young world that you believed to be important. I try to do this with my grandson as he has a love for books as well. xx

Thanks so much, Jamie Lynn, for your kind words. I think being a book collector is a bit of a lifelong addiction, however much or little space you have! How wonderful you can share books with your grandson. It’s such a joy to spread bookish love and now I reap the harvest as Miranda shares her recommendations and introduces me to new favourites 😀❤️📚
